CAR SHIPPING MODES
We ship cars overseas by air, sea container, or on Roll On –Roll Off (RoRo) car transport ships. RoRo ships are large car ferries with no passenger accommodation, a cost-effective method of shipping cars. For added security and safety, using a container is the best option for vehicles with personal effects. Airfreight is available for clients wanting rapid delivery of unique and high-value cars.
Depending on your destination, we can arrange car shipments via various ports: We can collect your vehicle from any UK address, or you can save by delivering the car yourself to the nominated port of shipment.
We will take care of all the shipping documentation and the necessary export customs formalities. Once the vessel departs, we send shipping documents and the bill of lading, Informing you of the expected arrival date at the port of importation. A clearing agent is assigned to handle the payment for customs duties, taxes, and other charges from the shipping line once the vessel arrives at the destination port, which the client pays off.
CAR SHIPPING IN CONTAINERS
This is usually the preferred method for shipping high-value vehicles and classic cars. We can collect your car from any UK address, or you can opt to save and deliver the car yourself to our nominated depot. Alternatively, we can arrange to have your container delivered to your home, and the container delivery vehicle will unload the container to ground level to enable the loading of the car. Whichever method you choose, our loading team will ‘choke-off’ and securely strap your vehicle into position to ensure safe passage while on its journey. Any remaining space – including the car’s cabin – may be utilized for your personal belongings.
As shown below, it is a cost-effective way to ship your car to the destination ports. Ro-Ro ships can carry cars, motorbikes, buses, trucks, tanks, and anything on wheels! All vehicles are secured in the vessel and completely safe from the elements. Generally, all cars must run and drive to ease loading and unloading by the team.
You may not load the vehicle with any other goods – We allow only the car, the spare wheel, and any other items that are standard to the car to be shipped. Why? – the car and its keys are handled by ship operators who are not prepared to risk or entertain any claims for any items that may be lost or stolen. If you want to ship goods with your car, we suggest sending your vehicle in a dedicated 20 or 40-ft ship container. See above.
